Mason Community Players, Inc. is a 501c3, not-for-profit, incorporated community theatre that strives to provide affordable theatrical productions of a high quality. Its vision is to make it possible for every member of the community, regardless of age, gender, race or creed to have an opportunity to experience live theater, through active participation onstage, backstage, in the orchestra, administratively or as a member of the audience. It does so because of a belief that art improves life.

Those who seek membership in order to present live theatre do so to entertain, to use their talents, to collaborate, to expose others to the arts, to tell stories that teach, to uplift, to share a message, to share with others, to have a social outlet, to develop relationships, for the fun of it, for the joy of it, because of the love of the art, because of their love for each other, to bring all of the above together.

The Mason Community Players are happy to announce our second show of 2018, Enchanted April. Join director Rebecca McLaughlin, and producer Dana Davis, as they bring the classic, Enchanted April, to the stage. The story follows two frustrated London housewives who decide to rent a villa in Italy for a holiday away from their bleak marriages. They decide to recruit two very different English women to share the cost and the experience. There, among the wisteria blossoms and Mediterranean sunshine, all four bloom again - rediscovering themselves in ways that they - and the audience - could never have expected.

Not only are the cast members wonderfully kind and great spontaneous singers, the recent production of Pride and Prejudice made my new home at Theatre 42 so wonderful! I cannot wait for The Wizard of Oz to begin so I can go back! :)

Mason Community Players

Community Theatre requires the talents and skills of many, many volunteers. Mason Community Players is always looking for performers through its audition process, having call for actors, vocalists, dancers and instrumentalists. But they are the tip of the iceberg. Technicians and supporting administrative personnel of every stripe are needed. MCP has need of lighting technicians, sound technicians, costumers, seamstresses, carpenters, scenic artists, painters, craftspeople, IT personnel, web designers, marketing personnel, graphic designers, fundraising experts, grant writers, bookkeepers and accountants, and anyone with organizational skills. If you have a talent or skill you would like to share, MCP would love to welcome you into the family.

Funding Needs

MCP rents its theatre home. Many renovation projects have taken place to make the space more conducive to theatre. But many more projects are needed to allow MCP to provide the best possible theatrical experience for its audience. Future projects include an upgrading of the lighting system, upgrading of the parking area with adequate lighting and the construction of an entrance to the property with appropriate signage. In addition, the group looks to make improvements to the exterior of the building to make it more aesthetically pleasing. Keeping in compliance with governmental agencies is also a necessity. Most recently, changes by the FCC require the replacement of the microphones used by the group ... just an example of the financial obligations that arise.
