Mission: Master Provisions serves God by connecting resources to needs working until every spiritual and physical need is fulfilled. Through these vital resources, Master Provisions seeks to change the story for people living in poverty. These resources address immediate physical need, aiding individuals and families through a time of crisis and insecurity. The goal is to help people become self-sufficient.

Master Provisions’ food outreach program gathers surplus food from area distributors and makes it available to partner agencies in our region who feed the hungry. These partners include soup kitchens, shelters, neighborhood food pantries and weekend backpack programs to feed hungry children. In partnership with Isaiah House ministries and local churches, we also provide food and logistical management for the Last Saturday mobile food pantries held at the end of each month in Covington and Ludlow, Kentucky. The food is “rescued” because much of it would have otherwise gone to a dumpster. The food is also primarily fresh, including fruits, vegetables, baked goods, dairy products and frozen entrees. These help improve nutrition for the one in six people (and one in five children) in our community who are hungry.

In 2016, Marcella came to the Last Saturday mobile food pantry to receive a box of food for her family. She met volunteer Julie Luebbers and as they got to know each other, a bond formed. Marcella returned in the following months, not only to receive food, but to volunteer at the mobile food pantry, helping to serve the others who, like Marcella, came seeking food and also received encouragement. Marcella credits Julie’s encouragement with changing her life; and Julie says that she feels that Marcella has changed her life, as well.

The work of Master Provisions is truly fueled by volunteers. About 4283 individuals serve at MP throughout the year, under the direction of a small staff of seven. These volunteers help change the life story of people who live in poverty. And, in turn, many of our volunteers find that their lives are changed as well. We need volunteers to help sort and manage donated food; to serve on site at the monthly mobile food pantries; to sort and pack clothing for delivery and shipment; to help with administrative tasks; to load and unload trucks or to operate a forklift or drive a truck. At Master Provisions, you’ll find people of all ages and abilities working side-by-side to serve others.

Funding Needs
Although the food and clothing Master Provisions distributes is donated, we need financial gifts to support the other costs of managing these resources. Gifts of all sizes help and are appreciated! Master Provisions also recruits donors who provide financial support for orphans placed in loving homes in Togo and Ukraine, as well as donors who support educational experiences for children in Guatemala. You may choose to make a recurring gift, or a one-time gift, such as joining Birthday Provisions. Please visit masterprovisions.org for details and to make a secure online donation. With your gift, you can change the story for someone in need.
